CANON

Large-scale and immersive and conceived for the Historic Heart – Cathedral Square, CANON, brings together an ensemble of sound plunged into a sequential generative cloud-form. Emulating a canon in song, a single voice builds to a hymn and reaches a crescendo as the audience stands witness to a performance of a large invisible choir enveloped by a celestial blanket of clouds, transforming Cathedral Square into a timeless and enchanted landscape.

With the participation of the St Georges Cathedral Choir: Lucinda Nicholls, Bonnie de la Hunty, Lydia Gardiner, Anita Saxby, Ben Jobson, Nicholas Matthews, James Chapman & David Woods. Composition by Bonnie de La Hunty.

Conversations in the square – Join (State Buildings and ACCA) Curator Annika Kristensen in conversation with artist Tom Mùller around the making of the work and the importance of temporary activations in the public realm. Moderated by Margaret Moore from Moore Contemporary, this lively and open conversation prefaced the last session of CANON.
