Tom Mùller’s site-specific installation for MOORE CONTEMPORARY. Repeated neon tubes projecting upward from mounds of marble chip command the space. Their soft hue – between ivory and blush – infuses the gallery with warm energy. Their structural and architectural dominance is countered by more elusive metaphysical or environmental evocations: lighting rods, earth or salt mounds, burial mounds, forces of nature, climate change… A singular copper staff glows with its own inherent properties and is poised and grounded through the gravity of its weight. A kind of luminescence juxtaposed with incandescence.
